Flush Sash Window FAQs
Are uPVC flush sash windows cheaper than timber?+
Traditionally crafted timber windows can be expensive to manufacture, with ongoing maintenance costs for sanding, staining or painting. Liniar’s Resurgence flush sash windows are typically more cost-effective over the life of the window once you factor in maintenance and the energy savings uPVC offers over timber.
Can flush sash windows be installed in listed properties or conservation areas?+
Councils are increasingly open to uPVC flush sash windows in conservation areas and on listed buildings, since they closely replicate the appearance of historical timber windows. Requirements vary by council and property, so it’s worth checking with your local conservation officer before ordering.
Will a foiled finish look like real wood?+
Foils are applied at the manufacturing stage using precision machinery, and can be laminated on both the inside and outside, or the interior can be kept plain white. Closed, a foiled Resurgence window is difficult to distinguish from real timber.
What makes flush sash windows different from standard casement windows?+
Unlike a standard uPVC casement window, a flush sash window has no external overlap — the sash sits flush within the outer frame, just like a timber window, rather than sitting proud of it.
